Gosford Forest and Area

One of the major attractions of the area is Gosford Castle in Gosford Demesne, seat of the Achesons, Baronets then Earls of Gosford. The castle was built in the early nineteenth century by the second Earl, but the influence of Gosford Demesne on the economic, social and political life of the area stretches back to the Plantation in the early-seventeenth century.
