THE TOWNLAND OF CALONE
The townland of Calone (or Collone) is in the parish of Kildarton in Armagh
County. It is labelled number 2 on the map.
The 1826 Schools Commission report describes the school in the townland:
“Collone – A pay school under the care of John Blair, of the
Seceder denomination, who was in receipt of 7l per annum. The school was held
in a cabin built at a cost of 15l. The school provided education for 25 scholars.”
