Townland: DRUMINURE
Sitename: DRUMINURE FORT, GREER’S FORT?
Condition: traces only
A circular “Fort” c.40m diam is shown of the OS 6″ map of 1835. Field reports of the 1960’s describe a poorly preserved monument, defined only on its W & NW sides by a curved ditch and field boundary. The ditch had been re-cut for drainage and measured 0.6m deep and 3.4m wide. A slight counterscarp bank, 1.8m wide & 0.3m high may have been upcast by recutting. The ditch and field boundary on the W have since been removed, and only a short length survives on the N.
