Tullylinn

THE TOWNLAND OF TULLYLINN

The townland of Tullylinn is in the parish of Ballymore in Armagh County. It
is labelled number 46 on the map.

The Environment and Heritage Service Sites and Monuments Record (2002) notes the following in this townland:

    Irish Grid Reference: J02533959
    Townland: TULLYLINN
    CONDITION: destroyed
    At the foot of a steep E-facing slope not far above the floor of the valley. A circular “Fort” c.40m in diam. is shown on the 1835 OS 6″ map. A building encroached upon the N side & by the time of the 1863 edition another structure had been added and only the “Site of Fort” is indicated. More buildings have removed all trace of the N half of the site and the S portion has been levelled.
